Double Celebration

Hello everyone

Today is a very special day for me. It's my Dad's 75th Birthday, and as if that wasn't enough my husband and I celebrate our 28th Wedding Anniversary too. Yep.....on August 9th 1980, I gave my Dad a Son-in-Law for his birthday!!!!

It hasn't all been plain sailing this week though. I have been really busy, working at my two jobs, looking after my family, and making cards for customers, so busy that I almost forgot these double celebrations. I know, how could I, that's a mans job, but I did all the same. Shame on me.

So this morning I had to get up at an un-Godly hour and make two cards. Now I didn't want to take too much time, as my dad always decides to visit me really early on these occasions. So I thought I'd tackle his first, after all I didn't want to disappoint him. He always thinks I've got everything under control, I mean, who am I to shatter his illusions!!!

Anyway, I made a really simple card, hoping that I'd get it finished before he knocked on the door. I'm pleased to say I did...phew...and he was none the wiser. Now it's not my best card, but for a card made in a hurry it's not that bad. And my Dad, well he was chuffed to bits with it, to know that I made it especially for him. I love him to bits, Happy Birthday Dad, you're the best.

By the way, he is not computer "compatible", so he'll never find out by reading this blog, just in case that's what you're thinking, hehe...

Now of course the other man in my life, besides all my son's and my Grandson, is my dear Husband. He was still in bed snoozing. He's been on nights this week bless him, and can't sleep too well in the daytime. Especially while school's out and the children and half the street's children are playing 'Sing Star' on the Playstation downstairs in the living room.

Just in time to make him an anniversary card I thought. I almost threw this card together, fearful that he might awake any moment and wander downstairs to discover just what I was doing. I have to say though, I do really like the simplicity of this one. It's very classy, and I love the embossing on the pearlised card. All's well that ends well.....sigh.....

"Happy Anniversary my love, we're obviously made for each other"

Love the cards Debbie. Seems we have something in common apart from crafting. It's my Dad's 75th Birthday today also.
