70th Birthday

Hi All

I was asked by somebody at work recently if I could make two birthday cards for a seventieth birthday. This person wanted the cards for her and her sister to give to their mother. She gave me a brief to work to, so I didn't have a totally free hand, but I did fulfil the brief's. Here are the results.
I'm at a wedding tomorrow, and have not yet made a card for that, so I need to get a move on. I've been so busy with work and family comittments, I've not had as much 'free time' as I'd like. It's been a stressful week.
One of my son's had to see the consultant at the fracture clinic on Tuesday. He had a motorbike accident way back in April, where he broke his left arm quite badly. He had an operation to have it pinned, and the bone still hasn't healed. He has a huge scar on the inside of his arm and is currently undergoing physiotherpy, to gain back strength and movement, and is improving in these areas, but still has a long way to go. The main concern is though, that with his bone not healing he may have to have a bone graft. The surgeon is going to make that decision in about another six weeks, so we still have more waiting to do. In the meantime he is unable to work, and that puts a strain on all of us.

On top of that he had to go to court on Monday to answer driving offences relating to the accident, which I won't go in to right now, but he did get fined on two counts, and banned for six months. The only casualty from the accident was himself, and he has had a really rough time. But I'm hoping he has learned a lesson, fingers crossed. Many of us do things when we are young that we later regret, and I hope this is one of them for him. I do not want a repeat of this.

Also this week, I have been on another management course for the last two days, I changed departments on one of my jobs, had supported my son in court, drove him to the hospital, and done all the other family stuff that comes every day, and I'm totally drained of all energy. I need a bit of comfort myself I think. I wish my family would put as much time into me as I put in to them sometimes. I need a bit of lovin' NOW please;o(

No doubt after a good nights sleep I'll be ready for the next round!!!

Love the cards :)
Boys! I think I am going to have a tough time too with my girls - thank goodness it is still a few years away. Hope he recovers from his ordeal soon.

Oh, you made a great job of those commissions, Debbie!! And if it wasn't ten to eleven at night, I'd offer to pop round and give you a hug!!

What are you doing on Sunday? Want to escape for a few hours? The grass is about three feet high, still, but the craft room is tidy(ish)!! Come over for a cuppa rosie lee.

Let me know if you can make it.

Chris xx

Gosh its hard isn't it when our children grow and you have to let them make their own mistakes leaving you to pick up the pieces when things go wrong, hope your son's arm recovers soon.
Fabulous commission cards I find them so hard to do.
