A Spoon Full Of Sugar

Hi

I woke up this morning to a snow covered world. Only a little mind you, but snow nontheless. Jordan my 12 year old son was delighted. He'll be skidding and sliding all the way to catch the bus to school. I think we're forecast to get more over the next couple of days, but I don't think we'll get snowed in or anything like that. We do keep getting a few flakes fluttering down but, I mean we're not in Canada for goodness sake, I couldn't imagine living there. I love to see it in the movies, but couldn't bear the freezing cold. It's amazing though, how everything in the UK seems to come to a standstill, with people stranded in their cars and power cuts and stuff, yet the rest of the world that is covered several feet deep just seem to carry on as normal. Why is that????
I do envy all those people who can stay indoors all cosy by a roaring fire, unlike me who has to go out to work this evening at 5:00pm not returning until 11:00pm. Oh it's a hard life.....Mind you when the warehouse closes down there'll be no more of that.

ooOoo

Anyway on to business. Another challenge done and dusted. This time for A Spoon full Of Sugar. Seems that everyone has got Valentines Day on their mind. The challenge is entitled "Love Is In The Air" and this card speaks for itself.

I do love to make cards that have pieces overlapping the edges. It does mean however that you need a bigger envelope or box, but I do think it makes it more individual, and an interesting shape. I added some dotty detail with an opaque white pen from Ranger. A little bit of satin edged organza ribbon tied around the matted image, and a computer generated sentiment. I used a Sarah Kay image, and alot of marshmallow pink, yummy.

The hearts were cut with a cuttlebug die, and embossed with Cuttlebug folders. You can see the detail more clearly in the above photo. I added tiny flat backed pearls to the centre of the embossed flowers to make them a bit more special. The dotty detail was added with an opaque white Inkessentials pen from Ranger. I love this pen, thanks to the gorgeous Rach, who can always be guaranteed to give hints and tips on the best tools for the job. Cheers Rach.

I did decorate the inside too, following through with the same paper, more embossed flowers with pearls and a small coloured image to match the one on the front. After all, a Valentines Day card has to be a bit special doesn't it.
