Truly Scrumptious Challenge #3

Hi all

Happy Wednesday, and hope you're all ok.

This weeks challenge at Truly Scrumptious is another sketch, this time designed by our lovely Beth.
The theme for this one is to show something shiny on your card. There's a fantastic prize from Pink Gem for the winner. So lets see what you can do.
Here's what I have done: I've made this card for my 'Step-Grandaughter', Ellie, who will be four this month. I thought I'd make her a really girly pink card. This fairy image from Pink Gem really is so cute and fits the bill just fine. I coloured it wth Copics, and added glitter to her wings. I think maybe I should've used fine glitter though, I feel this one's a bit too chunky.

You can see it more clearly here. It'll be perfect for those winter snowflakes, but a bit coarse for dainty fairies.
Now talking about fairies, I bought this ribbon from The Craft Fairy yesterday while I was at the NEC Hobbycrafts Show. Yummy pink marshmallow, raspberry and chocolate colours, they're really making my mouth water. I cut two strips of each, and tied them together instead of a bow. I think I looks fab, how about you?

I'm also loving my EK Success Retro Punches so much I'm just putting flowers on almost everything. I put the large brown flower through a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I decorated the flowers with little dots of Liquid Pearls. I intend to experiment more with these punches, so watch this space. Of course I had to decorate the inside too -

And I wanted to do something special, so I decided to use the same image, but make a pop-up, just like the old story books....in fact that's given me another idea. I'll put it on hold until another time, but keep watching.

Here's a closer look at the pop-out. It was so very simple to do too, why not have a go yourself. If you need any help, just contact me.

These are the Copic Markers I used to colour the image with. Oh I almost forgot....

the shiny bit...

you know, from the challenge...

well it's the metalic silver mirri-card behind the image on the front, did you spot it?

Hope you like what I did. I'd love to hear your comments if you have the time.

Thank you for your lovely comments and what a wonderful image you conjured up of you children walking through the poppy fields with your Grandad.
