Truly Scrumptious Challenge #2

Hi everyone, and a happy Wednesday to you all.

My oh my......What a success our first challenge was at Truly Scrumptious. Thanks so much to all those that joined in, and congratulations to our first winner Iris.

As you enjoyed our sketch so much, we have another one for you. But this time you have the added option of using buttons too, but only handmade ones. That's a little trickier for you, but let your imagination run wild. You could use Shrink Plastic, Fimo, paper, chipboard, metal, felt, or any other meduim you have in your stash. Just be creative (we want to see what you come up with), and inspire others to be creative too.

Here's my card:

The image is from our sponser this week, Sketching Stamper digi-stamps. The background papers are from Imaginesce, they are beautiful flowery papers with a touch of glitter. This card would be perfect for Mothers Day which is coming up very soon. I however have nobody to give it to, as my lovely Mum passed away almost ten years ago, bless her. But she is in my thoughts, and if she were here she'd love this card....So this one's for you Mum. xxx

I punched out some vellum flowers with my brand new, EK Success Retro Flower punches. To give the flowers a bit of definition, I drew dots around the edges with my opaque white Insessentials pen from Ranger. It makes them stand out from the background a bit more.

I made some buttons from white Sculpey clay, and painted them with H2o's after baking. I sprayed them with glossy varnish to finish them off. I used them for the centres of the flowers on my card. I decorated the inside too, with more paper, a smaller image, and more vellum flowers.

I think this is a very pretty card, I hope you like it. Why don't you pop on over to Truly Scrumptious, and take a look at the rest of the Design Teams cards, you won't be disappointed.

These are the Copic markers I used to colour in the image.

Happy Crafting...

Hello Debbie - What a beautiful selection of cards - the attention to detail and your eye for colour coordination is inspiring - I've just done dot-dash around the edges of some punched flowers and it's really lifted them, having just seen your delicate dots around your flowers - I shall return for further inspiration and in order that I don't miss out I shall pop you in my fav blog list for all to see - isn't Lou lovely - I'm so sorry you couldn't make Thursday - but shall hope you and I will meet one day soon as you're not too far away - Bridgette
